Serena Rutledge, a local singer/songwriter from Kincardine, has returned home from Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan to teach at Pick Studios. This special songwriting workshop is being offered to anyone with an interest in writing songs. All skill levels are welcome and interests in different genres are encouraged. Serena has been writing songs for over seven years, and plans to attend the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University in the fall. Some of her artistic accomplishments include touring across the midwest last year and playing shows in Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago and Detroit, as well as performing in New York City as part of an Interlochen student-written production called Resolve. Serena has written many songs for both herself and other artists as well. Before she moves to New York City in the fall she is looking forward to sharing in the beautiful art of songwriting with others in her home community. Whether you've never written a song before, or you've been writing songs for years, Serena looks forward to teaching a course that fosters creation at any stage.
